Clean Calgary Association

Idle Free Campaign

After launching a contest to design an idle-free decal on Earth Day and receiving numerous great entries, Clean Calgary Association has chosen a winning design. Doug Driediger’s graphic conveys a positive message to Calgarians supporting them to turn off their cars, it is very clear and inspires people to be idle-free. Doug is both excited to have won and to be part of this great initiative. He is also modest about his talents as an artist and his contributions to the non-profit sector in Calgary.

Clean Calgary Association plans to begin distribution of the decal, which will stick without adhesives to metal, glass and other surfaces, in September. The idle-free campaign will allow businesses, individuals and schools to sign an idle-free commitment and display the decals in their offices, homes and vehicle windows.

The idle-free decal is part of our Getting there Green program which encourages environmentally friendly driving habits and the use of alternative and active transportation choices.
